TEXA IDC5 suddenly doesn't work with 9 Pin Deutsch Cable
Share
We've had two customers in two days call because they haven't been able to connect to vehicles using the 9 Pin Deutsch cable but they can connect to other diagnostic port styles (Kubota, Doosan, etc.).
We don't know if this is a setting that is being pushed to TEXA IDC5 installations to get you to call in for support (and to pay for the upgrade to IDC6?) but in both cases the default 9 Pin Deutsch cable had been switched from the current cable (either the OBDII to 9 Pin adapter or the T22 American Truck Cable (with OBDI, 6 Pin Deutsch and 9 Pin Deutsch) to the T16 9 Pin Deutsch which hasn't been available for over 8 years.
To check your default 9 Pin Deutsch settings:
- When working on a vehicle that uses the 9 Pin Deutsch cable, click on the cable identification icon to the right of the start button.

- Click the gear icon to the right of the green Next button.

- Confirm that you have the correct 9 Pin Deutsch cable selected. The T16 cable hasn't been available for sale for over 8 years, I've never met anyone who owns this cable so double check if you are indeed running the T16 or if you need to select the other 9 Pin Deutsch cable.

- Perform the diagnosis again, in both cases the customer was able to connect to the machine now that they had selected the correct 9 Pin Deutsch cable.
